Hello my name is Federico Quintana, Deaf educator, and specializing in A.S.L. pedagogy. It is my first language and I make sure to design and deliver the high quality of teaching materials/content to keep your students engaged in A.S.L. lessons. My arduous journey started as a Deaf educator and High School sign language teacher. This experience reflects too many Deaf/H.H. people as most overlooked marginalized population of the already-disparities society. One major roadblock is the communication barrier, which is always an obstacle to my finances and quality of life. When I was a doctoral student of organizational leadership, I was the only student who was Deaf in the program (the rest were "hearing"), relying on the interpreter and other accommodations. I learned that in the business world, there aren't any C.E.O. who is Deaf or has achieved the level of leadership momentum other than those safeguarded by educational institutions and T.V. & Movie Celebrities. Throughout my professional life, I have continued to push beyond limitations without hearing a sound to pursue the big entrepreneurial dream. Being deaf didn't stop me from thriving in arts and teaching American Sign Language (A.S.L.). A.S.L. is the 3rd most used language in the U.S. before Speaking English and Spanish. I cultivated my passions in both Art and Pedagogy into a successful business selling teacher-made materials/resources through teacherspayteachers.com. I built high-quality online A.S.L. courses as well. It is among the best-selling digital products that thousands of educators and customers appreciate worldwide. I am no stranger to painful failures, have so much to learn, and am blessed with both knowledge and experiences in leadership. I knew a vision that would positively impact countless people by expanding productive labor forces and public services. This milestone taught me to overcome the fears of becoming a full-time Deaf entrepreneur taking the initial step to launch a start-up company with my partner, Lacie Greene, to operate the businesses under one umbrella. The Deaf Company L.L.C. operates the subsidiary of services, invests in various research development projects, and provides high-quality workshop/training activities. We continue to expand our business by selling multiple cultural-themed goods (i.e., "A.S.L."/Signed logos) and digital educational products via an accredited E-commerce online store. The journey goes on. |
